How to crochet a owl plushie?
This quick crochet owl pattern, is a perfect crochet owl tutorial for beginners. Let’s get started!
MATERIALS:
Hook: 7 mm
Yarn:
Color A (Body) #6 Super Bulky • Approx 30 yds
Color B (Eyes) #6 Super Bulky • Approx 3 yds
Color C (Beak) #6 Super Bulky • Approx 1 yd
Notions: Scissors, stitch marker, darning needle, poly-fil, 16 mm safety eyes
Final Size: 4″H x 6″W (from wing to wing)

YARNS USED:
Body: -Bernat Blanket Yarn color: Deep Fuchsia
Circle Eyes: -Bernat Blanket Yarn color: White
Beak: -Bernat Blanket Yarn color: Burnt Mustard

Crochet Owl Body
Using color A, 7 mm hook:
*Note* You will be working in the round:
Rnd 1: Make a mc, ch 1, sc 8 into the ring. (8)
Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (16)
Rnd 3: Sc blo in ea st around. (16)
Rnd 4: Sc in ea st around. (16)
Rnd 5: *inc, sc 3* x4. (20)
Rnds 6-7: Sc in ea st around. (2 rnds) (20)
Rnd 8: *dec. sc 3* x4. (16)
Rnds 9-10: Sc in ea st around. (2 rnds) (16)
Rnd 11: Dec, sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc, dec, sc 2, hdc, dc, hdc, sc 2, sl st to first st. (14)
Tie off, leaving long tail to whip stitch top shut. Leave body temporarily unstuffed and do not whip stitch until all pieces are attached.

Crochet Owl Wings
Using color A, 7 mm hook, repeat 2 times:
Insert your hook between Rnd 7-8 finding the 2 center sts directly below the dc that we made.
Row 1: Ch 2, working into owl body, dc-inc x2. (4)
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc2tog x2. (2)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, dec over remaining 2 sts. (1)
Tie off. I like to weave in my tails on the inside of body. Repeat above instructions on other side of the body.
Crochet Owl- Eye Circles
Using color B, 7 mm hook, make 2:
Rnd 1: Make a mc, ch 1, sc 7 into ring, sl st to join. (7)
Tie off. Place 16 mm safety eye into the center of magic circle and attach on Rnd 9, 1 st between eye circles. You can sew down the eye circles or leave them as is and weave in the tails.
Crochet Owl- Beak
Using color C and 7 mm hook:
Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in 2nd ch from hook. (1)
Tie off, leaving long tail to sew onto body. Attach on Rnd 8 between the eyes.
Closing the top of the crochet owl
Stuff body. To close the top, whip stitch shut, lining up sts on one side with the same sts on other side of body.
