Stitch Abreviations:
ch chain
mc magic circle
sc single crochet
hdc half double crochet
dc double crochet
Special Stitches:
treble crochet over 2 sts: Yarn over twice, insert, yarn over pull through, yarn over pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2, repeat twice in first st, then do the same thing in the next st. You should end up with 5 loops on your hook, yarn over and pull through all five loops.
How to Crochet a Flower Bookmark: The Pattern:
We will begin by making the inside of the flower, then the outer flower, then move on to the steam and leaves.
How To Crochet The Flower:
Using color A (the color you want for the center of flower) and 6 mm crochet hook:
Rnd 1: Make a MC and chain 1, sc 12 into ring, sl st to join. (12)
Now you will work with the other color you want for your flower and begin making the pedals:
Rnd 2: Ch 2, make a treble crochet bobble over 2 sts, ch 2, and sl st into the last st you worked into, then *sl st in next st, ch 2, treble crochet over 2 stitches (going into the st where you made a sl st, and in the next st), repeat repeat from* to end of rnd. (6 pedals)
Green Stem:
Using color C and 4.5 mm hook:
Row 1: Ch 21, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea st across. (20)
Tie off leaving about a 12 tail to sew onto the flower.
Leaves:
make 2 leaves, you will crochet the leaves onto the stem:
For the first leaf, you will count up from the bottom of stem (the side with no tails) 11 sts.
Insert your hook into the 11th st and pull the yarn through,
Row 1: Ch 2, dc 4 into the same st. (4)
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc over all 4 sts. (1)
Tie off, and weave in tails.
Sewing The Flower and Stem Together:
You will simple use the stem tail and whip stitch the stem on between 2 pedals.
once finished, cut yarn and weave in any remaining tails.
