Have you ever wondered how to crochet a chain with faux fur yarn? Using faux fur yarn can be intimidating, but once you get the hang of it, it is very addicting!!!! Crocheting with faux fur yarns is my passion! I have grown to love the look and feel of faux fur yarns, and I want to spread that love to you and teach you how easy it can be to crochet with faux fur. I will be creating several different video tutorials on basic Faux Fur Crochet Techniques. I’d love to have you come along with me and take your crochet to the next level!

So, how do you make beginner crochet chains? I want to start from the very beginning. I thought it would be easiest to teach you how to make a chain with faux fur yarn if I first showed you how to make a chain with regular yarn, then I’d do a chain with regular and faux fur yarn, finally I’ll show you how to chain with only faux fur yarn. I also have a YouTube tutorial to go along with these pictures.

Crochet Chain for Beginner

Let’s start from the very beginning…..
Holding one strand of regular worsted weight yarn:

1. Make a slip knot.
2. Yarn over.
3. Pull through your loop.
4. Repeat until you reach your desired number of chains.

Yarn and Faux Fur Crochet Chain

Continuing to progress with crochet chain stitches…..
Holding one strand of regular worsted weight yarn AND one strand of faux fur yarn:

1. Make a slip knot.
2. Yarn over.
3. Pull through your loop.
4. Repeat until you reach your desired number of chains.

Finally, we can crochet our chain using faux fur yarn:
